Robert P. McFarland, Sr. graduated from Bay Springs High School in Bay Springs, Mississippi in 1962. After High School, he graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1967 and went on to serve as a Navy pilot during the Viet Nam war. In 1973, he was hired by Eastern Airlines but was furloughed within the first year. In 1977, he graduated from Atlanta Law School and was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia. Later that year, he rejoined Eastern Airlines as a pilot. In January of 1991, Eastern Airlines ceased operations and he continued his full-time practice of law. In 2015, he retired from active law practice of law. He was licensed as a real estate broker. He is a Silver Life Master in Duplicate Bridge. In the 1980’s, he was an active member of Gideons International. Mr. McFarland has written several books which are listed on amazon.com. On of which is Jesus’ Trials. This is a legal analysis of the six trials of Jesus Christ. He and his wife, the former Becky Lynn O’Callaghan, were married in 1974. They have lived in the same house in Cumming, Georgia since 1981. They have been members of Community Bible Church of Cumming since 1982. They have four grown children who are all married. They have seven grandchildren, at the time of this writing.
