A: A Christian addiction recovery program is a faith-based approach to addiction recovery that incorporates Christian principles and values into the recovery process with a discipleship model. This program emphasizes the importance of a personal relationship with God as a means of overcoming addiction because God is able to accomplish what we are not able to by ourselves. The verses we stand on are Hebrews 10:25, “Do not give up meeting together….encouraging one another,” 1 John 5:14, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us,” and Psalms 119:11, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

A: The main difference between a Christian addiction recovery program and other types of addiction treatment is the focus on faith and spirituality as a means of recovery. This program emphasizes the importance of finding the truth about your identity through God’s Word, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship with other believers in the recovery process. We truly believe God is at work and have seen how God’s intervention radically transforms our lives, starting with our hearts and flowing out into our lives and future. This program is also not a medical facility or treatment program, and entrants must be sober from drugs and alcohol for at least 72 hours prior to their entrance into the program.

A: Our program lasts for approximately 24 weeks. At the start of the program, each attendee will be partnered with a mentor, attend orientation, and begin the schedule. During this time there will be a chance to reflect and get to know the assigned mentor while the attendee begins daily life at Forever International. In the first 12 weeks, each trainee will receive one-on-one training plus group classes. During this time they will continue with the daily schedule, work with their mentors and begin healing. Areas of focus during the first part of the program include: Scripture memorization, physical fitness, working with the community, talking to God, journaling, attending worship, and seeking out your individual gifts and abilities. During the following 12 weeks of the program each trainee will then mentor a new attendee in the program. This is based on the Biblical model of discipleship with Paul and Timothy. Once an attendee of the program graduates, they will be eligible to apply for potential paid/volunteer positions working on the recovery farm and offered transitional suite housing on the property to help set other men free from addiction.

A: Forever International’s programs can help any man deeply struggling with any type of addiction, including drug addiction, alcohol addiction, gambling addiction, pornography, gaming, and more.

A: The success rate of our faith-based addiction recovery program can vary depending on the individual’s commitment to following through the duration of the program, full engagement in the program’s daily rhythms and activities, heeding the program’s recommendations upon completion of the program, as well as other factors specific to the individual and their circumstances. “After struggling with drugs for many years, hitting rock bottom and breaking relationships with everyone, even loved ones, I began to search for help through doctors, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, secular recovery programs and faith based programs. These helped some, but I could not find the answers I needed or get long lasting freedom until I found the truth in God’s Word about my identity and battle for freedom.” – Bryan McFarland, President and Founder of Forever International

A: Yes, but our approach to recovery is not like your typical addiction recovery program. At Forever International, our practices are based on the foundations of Christ. Only through Christ do we believe that you can transform your life forever. As a result, you must be open to these practices because only the Truth can set you free. If you don’t feel these practices align with your beliefs, this program may not be the best fit for you.

A: During our 24 week faith based addiction recovery program, individuals can expect to participate in a variety of activities, including prayer and worship, Bible study, spiritual warfare, and discipleship. Our private farm is completely confidential, so you can enter into a new and safe environment during your stay. On the recovery farm, we have a fitness center, 1.5 mile walking trail, 2-hole golf course, zip line, steam room, prayer tower, and a beautiful creek.
